Coming to terms with feelings of loss and making sense of it can be a painful process. Grief is a common emotional and sometimes physical response that you feel when you experience loss after a disaster or a traumatic event. Bereavement is a type of grief you experience when you lose a loved one.
In more ways than one, childhood trauma can impact adult relationships. Yet the challenges don’t have to be permanent — with some support, healing is possible.
You’ve been through a traumatic experience or have complex trauma and are now wondering how it might be affecting your relationships. Can you have healthy relationships after trauma? It can sometimes be challenging for trauma survivors to have a relationship for a number of reasons.
Grief is the emotional response to a loss, typically that of a loved one. Grief can encompass many different emotions — sadness, anger, guilt — as well as have significant mental and physical impacts on those suffering from it. Many people are familiar with the five stages of grief that Swiss psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross coined in her book On Death and Dying more than 50 years ago. Kübler-Ross conceived the model to describe the emotional journey of the dying.

Le works with adults and couples who are struggling in life or in their relationships. She counsels couples who feel like they are running out of hope, need tools to reconnect, or those with intimacy issues. Le is an experienced counselor for people overcoming trauma or facing challenges like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and foster or adoption difficulties. Having experienced the challenges of parenting children from hard places and those with disabilities, Le is passionate about supporting parents of kids who struggle.
Le joined our staff in February of 2016 after earning her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. Le is ICEEFT certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and serves on the North Texas EFT Community Steering Team. She also has a trauma therapy certificate through Trauma Care Institute. Le is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and is dedicated to providing the best care possible for the people of Wise County and beyond.
